Casa Rica Tortillas was started in the fall of 1985 by the Longoria and Musquiz families. Our goal was to produce and distribute old-fashioned homemade tortillas, because the tortillas that were available in stores were not homemade quality. An old family recipe that has been passed down for many generations was used to make the highest quality homemade tortillas. Initially family members, including the kids, were involved in the making and packaging of the tortillas, as the business started out small. Many of these same family members remain involved in the business today.
As the demand for authentic homemade tortillas grew, Casa Rica Tortillas grew to cover all of Northwest Texas. As our territory grew, so did our need for more space, and in 1996 Casa Rica Tortillas moved into a 40,000 sq ft building to accommodate more equipment and 40 employees, located on Texas Interstate 27. Over the years the technology in the tortilla industry has changed greatly, but we have never changed our recipe, and our focus continues to be on the quality of all our products.
For 27 years Casa Rica Tortillas has been able to maintain dominance in our region against the big national brands. We are now in a position to take our quality authentic products and make them available to everyone in the state of Texas and surrounding states, delivering the same high quality homemade style tortillas that we have been making in West Texas since 1985.
Our products can currently be found in local Wal-Marts, United Supermarkets, Lowes, Albertsons, Brookshire, Lawrence Brothers, Super Mercado, Super Save, Thriftway, Affiliated Foods, and Ben E. Keith.
